〰️ Creative Currents: 🎆 New Year's Gift for you

Hi Reader,

I hope you had a good start to the year. The past couple of days, I spent reflecting on 2024, and what a year it was. There has been a lot of change for me and getting used to new things. However, I finally feel like I have arrived.

And I have a gift for you. One of my intentions for 2025 is to spend more time with hands-on creativity: painting, drawing, photography. You name it.

Since this is probably every surface pattern designer's plan, I created a FREE eBook called "A Year of Soft Pattern Intentions." Look out for the link below ;)

💡

INSPIRATION STATION

Homemade Tangerine Jam

Last week, I made jam as our garden is filled with sweet and ready tangerines. They inspired this week's color palette and reminded me of how much activities like baking and jam-making help me relax. Time away from work is very necessary and allows you to return to creative projects fully energized. What things do you like to do off work?

Pattern Play

Minimalist Acrylic painting

This acrylic painting might turn into a pattern, but for now, it is my kick-off to a more creative 2025. After a recent wine & paint surprise event I knew that I needed more of this in my life. I couldn't wait to take creative action again and got myself some art crafts to start simple. I plan to paint the same motif over and over again and change only one thing every time. This is a trick to remove the barrier of needing to find a new motif.

New Year's Treat

FREE EBOOK: Create Stunning Patterns Year-Round with Ease

Don't all of us crave a more creative life without the stress attached? I do for sure and as part of my mission towards A Year of Soft Pattern Intentions, I created a FREE eBook for you. In it, you'll find inspiration throughout the entire year with 12 comprehensive and flexible prompts as well as creative impulses inspired by nature, feelings, and activities.

Designer's Toolbox

Design Allrounder Canva

Even though I work with Adobe Illustrator and Indesign, Canva is still an excellent source for design lovers. It makes it easy to create anything from gift vouchers to freebies. I also used it to create the Year of Soft Pattern Intensions eBook and love how simple they make designing. But, remember to customize your files when using a template to keep your artist's voice. You wouldn't want to sacrifice your artistic personality.

Fuel Your Flow

The Slow Life of Eugenia Diaz

Sometime last winter, I came across Eugenia Diaz on YouTube and fell right into the softness of her videos. She shares her slow life in the Portuguese countryside along with baking bread and all things heartwarming. Have a look and soak up the warm feeling away from the big city hustle. It's like gentle sun rays shining on your face.
