〰️ Creative Currents: Of Whys and Worries
Published 3 days ago • 2 min read
Hi Reader,
Let’s be real. Worry sneaks in even when you're doing what you love. Especially then. Whether it's self-doubt, deadlines, or just trying to keep up with everything, worry can get loud. But here’s something that should be even louder: your why.
Your why is the compass that guides you through foggy seasons, unexpected detours, or days when the spark feels far away. Finding it isn't always instant—it’s a practice, a series of gentle reminders. But once you’ve named it, it can carry you. Especially when worry tries to take the wheel.
To be honest, I need those reminders of my WHY. Again and again. How about you?

INSPIRATION STATION
Gorilla Mode On
Walking my dog through a garden-filled neighborhood the other day, I overheard two little boys in full imagination mode: "And then, and then we turn into gorillas and plow forward!"
It made me smile so much. That joy, that courage—completely unfiltered. It reminded me how powerful it is to let imagination run wild. What if we brought a bit of that boldness into our grown-up creative lives?
Art & Laughter
Last week, I visited the Danubiana Art Museum in Bratislava with my pattern study group (big shoutout to Fanny & Renáta). Surrounded by water and wild, modern pieces, I loved how energizing it is to see art beyond your own bubble. Stepping into those spaces—literally and creatively—shakes things up in the best way.
Highly recommend a field trip, even if it’s just to your local gallery.

Pattern Play
Lantern Acrobatics
This pattern is a border design filled with twisted lanterns—some knotted, others bent or dangling a little oddly. Kind of like life. Not everything is neat or perfectly symmetrical. But there’s light, even if it’s not straight ahead. That’s what I wanted this piece to say: Stay focused on the light. Even if your path winds, you’re still moving.

Feel-Good Productivity
Ali Abdaal’s book Feel-Good Productivity caught my attention a while ago and I've been slow-reading it over breakfast for a couple of weeks now. What stuck was the idea of mission-type tactics. Instead of obsessing over how to do something perfectly, we anchor ourselves in why we're doing it. This mindset is a buffer when your inner critic shows up. If reading isn’t your thing right now, Ali also has a YouTube channel full of helpful, energizing videos.

Fuel Your Flow
What's Your WHY?
When things get messy or motivation fades, your why becomes your anchor. Mine? Freedom—to choose how I work, create with purpose, and build a life filled with balance and beauty. I want to wake up excited and make things that spark joy—for me and for others.
Your why can be personal—like time with family or space to heal—or business-driven, like the impact you want to make. You don’t need all the answers, just a direction. When worry creeps in, let your why speak louder.
So What?
I’ve been exploring the why behind my creative journey—and now it’s time to explore the what. After a creative sabbatical spent studying pattern design, writing, and online business, I’m now looking for remote part-time or full-time roles in brand strategy, creative direction, or people & culture—anywhere I can help shape ideas into meaningful experiences.
I’m also available for freelance work in: • Pattern design & visual systems • Brand books & creative strategy • Pitch decks, workbooks & content design
If that sounds interesting to you, reach out to me. I'm just a message away:
