Hi Reader,
Recently, I’ve been pouring my energy into something truly special—something I believe will transform how surface pattern designers approach their creative lives. I’m so excited about it, but I’ll admit my ambition got the best of me.
I found myself chasing perfection, unable to fully step away when I wasn’t working. The pressure I put on myself dulled the joy I usually feel while creating.
It’s a good reminder: ambition can drive us forward, but trying too hard can hold us back. Let’s not forget to pause, breathe, and enjoy the journey.

On a recent stroll, I spotted fallen leaves in pastel pinks and greens. At first, I thought they were fake—they were that unusual! Not the yellow-orange-red combo I'm used to from Austria. I love moments like these, where nature surprises you with unexpected beauty. It’s a reminder to stay curious and keep looking for inspiration in the everyday.

This design started with shades from olive trees, but when I recolored it in soft wintery pastels, it transformed into something completely different. It’s funny how one small change can shift the entire mood of a pattern.
