One of my main drivers this year is curiosity. It keeps us exploring, experimenting, and enjoying the creative process. It means we're embracing questions over answers and letting wonder shape our path.

When curiosity takes the lead, creating becomes an adventure rather than a task.

It’s not just about producing patterns—it’s about discovering which lines, shapes, textures, and colors ignite your joy, make you smile, represent the mood you're going for, or truly move you.

The more curious you are, the more you enjoy, and the easier it is to move forward with fulfillment.

Enjoyment is the best driver for efficiency, not the other way around. So, ENJOY.

Natural Mosaic

On a recent hike, I came across a monestary that featured an inner yard filled with mosaic floors. They were not just regular mosaics, but consisted of uneven, natural stones that were arranged into patterns with care. It was far from perfect, but that's exactly what made it more stunning than any pattern trimmed to precision. When was the last time you allowed yourself to be raw and unpolished in an artistic endeavour?

Clovers at Night

As part of my Year of Soft Pattern Intentions, I created my January pattern. It is based on a prompt that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. For me January entails a sea of clovers. I'm pretty much swimming through them every morning when Pepsi dog and I find our way through the olive groves. As they are not a typical winter motive, I ended up dipping them into a frosty blue and added a pitch dark backround. Sometimes a hard opposite of colors comes out as a positive surprise. Try it.
